5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) is an Australian pop rock band that was formed in Sydney in 2011. The band consists of four members: Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin, and Michael Clifford. They started by posting covers on YouTube, which eventually led to their discovery by One Direction member Louis Tomlinson, who then invited them to be the opening act for their “Take Me Home” tour.

Musical Career

Since then, 5SOS has released four studio albums and has become one of the most successful Australian bands of all time. Their music is primarily pop rock and pop punk, with influences from various genres including alternative rock, power pop, and electropop. Their debut self-titled album, “5 Seconds of Summer,” topped the charts in numerous countries and went on to be certified platinum.

In 2015, the band released their second album, “Sounds Good Feels Good,” which debuted at number one in multiple countries and achieved commercial success.
