Early Life and Career

DC the Don started writing songs when he was just 8 years old. American singer Michael Jackson heavily influenced him. During his teenage years, he played basketball with the Amateur Athletic Union, where he befriended future NBA player LaMelo Ball and his brothers Lonzo and LiAngelo Ball. ESPN listed him as a 3-star recruit in 2018.

Music Career

In October 2017, DC the Don released his debut single, “Everything 1K,” which caught the attention of NBA player Lonzo Ball. Moreover, he wrote and recorded the song in just ten minutes, showcasing his natural talent for music.In February 2019, he released “3AM Freestyle” on the WorldStarHipHop YouTube channel, which further solidified his growing popularity.

Label Issues and Departure

DC the Don signed to Run Music LLC, a family-owned record label, but issues began to arise, and he started his departure from the label in 2019. Furthermore, he gained attention to the situation by using the phrase “FREE DC.” In mid-2020, he was released from his contract and signed with Rostrum Records, a move that allowed him to continue his rise to fame.

Breakthrough Success

In 2020, DC the Don’s song “Worst Day” gained significant traction after its release on the deluxe version of his debut album, Come As You Are. The song’s success helped to establish him as a serious player in the rap industry, and he has since released several more successful singles.

Recent Releases
