Maggie Rogers is a singer-songwriter from Easton, Maryland. Early Life and Education

Maggie Rogers was born on April 25, 1994, in Easton, Maryland. She grew up in a rural area outside of the town and spent much of her childhood exploring nature and playing music. Rogers began playing the harp at age seven and added the guitar and piano to her repertoire later on. She attended St. Andrew’s School in Delaware, where she developed her interest in folk music and began writing her own songs.


After graduating from St. Andrew’s in 2012, Rogers attended New York University, where she studied music. It was during a master class with Pharrell Williams in 2016 that Rogers gained international attention. Williams was visibly moved by Rogers’ song “Alaska,” and the video of his reaction went viral, catapulting Rogers to fame.

In 2017, Rogers released her debut EP, “Now That the Light Is Fading,” which received critical acclaim and showcased her unique blend of folk and electronic music. Her debut studio album, “Heard It in a Past Life,” followed in 2019 and featured hit singles like “Light On” and “Fallingwater.” The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart and cemented Rogers’ status as a rising star in the music industry.

In addition to her solo work, Rogers has collaborated with other artists, including The National, Rostam Batmanglij, and Sam Genders. She has also been an advocate for social and environmental causes, partnering with organizations like Planned Parenthood and Greenpeace.
